I’m excited to see that chef Luke Dale-Roberts himself is in the kitchen, leaning over his chefs, watching their preparations and making occasional suggestions. I take a surreptitious photo of him and WhatsApp it to a friend who has something of a rockstar crush on him.
Each town has its own charm and it’s difficult to figure out what keeps their economies buoyant. For the most part, there are coffee shops and antique stores in each town that gives tourists a reason to stop and visit.
The Silo District is the elegantly edgy new enclave of Cape Town’s famed V&A Waterfront. Cities come alive when creative forms of reimagining take place around their older or more rougher edges, and the Silo District is one of these.
