Our household is blessed with an energetic and imaginative three-year old, so most days involve wild and fantastical games starring elaborate castles, dragons and fairy princesses. Our announcement of a beach holiday to the Isle of Wight was met with squeals of delight and an instant obsession with sandcastles, pirates and (for some unknown reason) starfish. Once the countdown was finally complete (three-year olds are not known for their patience) we set off on our seaside summer escapade.

A big shout out to Tim Bertrand for this epic video from Malawi… Tim, thanks for showing us where one half of our G&T initials (the Tea part) hail from!

For the first half an hour everyone was blown away by the beauty of it all: marshy swampland as far as the eye can see, beautiful plant life and millions of little animals flying, crawling and swimming all around us.

Make sure your fitness levels are at a reasonable level and get the knees ready for a bit of strain (a walking stick will make you look fragile but you’ll be grateful for it when tackling some of the steep climbs along the way). There are also countless waterfalls and pools to be enjoyed, so make sure you’ve packed your water wings and got that beach body into shape.
