The only reminder of last night’s adventure was the muddied cars that stood parked between me and my view of the ocean. Incredibly, and overnight, with a little help from the sunshine, this landscape had transformed into a paradise beyond my expectations.
Hearing gunfire echo around the valley reminded us that we were not in the Swiss Alps!We silently contemplated the prospect of spending a night in the woods, acknowledging that we were unlikely to all wake up in the morning.

I’ve never seen a shark, only in aquariums, but there were plenty of reef sharks swimming just a few metres away, it was amazing to see them in their natural habitat and undisturbed by our presence.

Epic limestone karsts rise out of the green rice fields for miles around to give the landscape a middle-earth feel. The misty cloud that characterises the area further adds to the effect and creates a wonderful contrast with the brilliant green paddies below.
Perhaps the most striking thing about a visit to Cu Chi is the incredible resourcefulness of the soldiers who lived and fought at Cu Chi. Everything was reused or recycled.
