Owned by the Taberer family since 1984, the property has recently undergone impressive renovations. Apart from its wines and horses, Avontuur is now also a spectacular wedding and events venue.
The wedding venues
The Winery and Cellar Venue
The winery venue features exquisite views over False Bay with a backdrop of the magnificent Helderberg Mountains. This options gives you exclusive rights to the winery facilities for your event. The wedding reception area can comfortably host 150 pax, with a beautiful canapé and sundowner terrace and the winery lawns or terrace as the ceremony areas.
Spaces include:
– the main barrel cellar reception area
– the restaurant area, tasting room bar and area
– the terrace area and the lawns in front of winery
The Barrel Cellar Venue
The newly renovated Barrel Cellar Venue is included in the Winery Venue hire. It can seat up to 150 pax, but can also be stylishly partitioned into 60 or 30 seater rooms. The space offers a beautiful area for sundowners on the terrace.
There are two ceremony option areas, namely the lawn in front of the winery, or the winery terrace.
The manor house
The historical manor house, where the Taberer boys grew up, has been revamped to provide guests with utmost comfort and an exceptionally enjoyable farm lifestyle experience.
The manor house has nine private suites, four lounges, a tennis court, conference facilities, a swimming pool, a pavilion as well as large rolling lawns. The Avontuur Restaurant and tasting room is on your door step – a mere 200m walk away.
The house is also available to book out exclusively. The exclusivity package allows guests to experience the full potential of Avontuur’s wedding offering as it includes use of the Manor House lawns in front of the classic cape Dutch Arch of the home, perfect for ceremonies and all other event needs.
Included is two nights’ accommodation in the Manor Home sleeping up to 20 pax. Also you get full exclusivity of the house during your stay and exclusivity of the entire estate and all the facilities on the day.
